Tynkkylän Lomaniemi is located in Punkaharju at the village of Vuoriniemi,on the shore of Lake Saimaa
These are beautiful surroundings with many islands and bays - not to forget one of the rarest mammals in the world, Saimaa Ringed Seal, living in the area.
Agritourism in Tynkkylän Lomaniemi started as early as 1968 and has since developed into many diverse services. Nowadays there are 14 cottages, which are all MALO -classified and provide 4-5 star accommodation opportunities. At the main building catering services are held throughout the year by appointment and the famous Savonian-Karelian lunch every Sunday in summertime. The summer café is open daily from June to August. Also the well-equipped guest harbour on the surroundings of the main building is popular among the sailors. The home museum, textile shop, nature trail and several lovable animals are all ready to make sure that the visitors enjoy their stay. The business idea of Tynkkylän Lomaniemi is to produce high-quality services under the circumstances created by nature. Peacefulness of nature, purity and genuineness – all of these combined with the customer service from the heart are our specialities. Tynkkylän Lomaniemi has The Uniquely Finnish label as well as the Laatutonni label. It is also a part of The Charms of Saimaa.
The present owner of the farm is Jukka Heikkonen. Jukka`s parents Arto and Raija help him with the everyday work and catering services. Jukka´s brothers Mika and Pasi with their families also participate whenever they have time.
The farm area has 15 hectares under cultivation, 110 hectares of forest and 3000 meters of shoreline.
